ABOUT KUNO

Ancient Wisdom. Modern Consciousness.

KUNO means “ancient” in Indonesian.

For us, the name represents something deeper: the idea that understanding who we are sometimes requires looking beyond who we have been taught to be.

KUNO is a space for exploring self-awareness, consciousness, ancient wisdom, intuition, and the patterns that shape our experience of life.

WHY KUNO

Two Worlds. A Shared Inquiry.

KUNO grew from two lives shaped by very different cultures and experiences.

One rooted in the West. One beginning in Indonesia and later moving to the United States. Those different perspectives created countless conversations about identity, culture, conditioning, spirituality, consciousness, and what it means to truly know yourself.

KUNO grew from those conversations.

We explore ancient ideas alongside modern understanding—not to tell you what to believe, but to create a space where you can question, observe, and discover for yourself.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND KUNO

Robert & Kala

Robert Christopher

A Life of Exploration

Long before KUNO, Robert's curiosity about life took him beyond the world he knew. After traveling through South America, he eventually moved to Bali, Indonesia, where he spent nearly a decade living, connecting with local communities, and experiencing a very different relationship with culture, spirituality, nature, and everyday life.

Years later, his exploration turned increasingly inward—toward consciousness, meditation, conditioning, and the patterns that shape how we experience ourselves and the world.

Robert brings that lifelong curiosity to KUNO: a willingness to question what we think we know and explore what becomes possible when we begin observing ourselves more deeply.

Kala

A Life Between Worlds

Born and raised in Indonesia, Kala's journey has taken her through very different places, cultures, and ways of understanding life. From Jakarta to Bandung, Jogjakarta, and eventually Bali, she encountered traditions and beliefs that often existed quietly alongside modern life and organized religion.

Living in different parts of Indonesia gave her an early awareness that the way we understand reality, spirituality, community, and ourselves is deeply influenced by where—and how—we are raised.

Later, life in the United States gave her another perspective. Moving between Eastern and Western cultures created an opportunity to question what once seemed ordinary and to see more clearly how culture, family, tradition, and experience shape what we believe.

Kala brings that perspective to KUNO—not as someone with all the answers, but as someone deeply curious about what remains when we begin looking beneath what we have been taught.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

We Offer the Mirror, Not the Answer.

KUNO is not here to give you another belief system to follow.

It is about learning to observe what you already believe — and asking where those beliefs came from.

We believe meaningful change begins with awareness. When we can see our patterns, assumptions, reactions, and conditioning more clearly, we create the possibility of choosing differently.

The purpose of KUNO is not to tell you who to become. It is to help you see yourself more clearly.
